Can I keep my current whiteboard or dispatch system and only use Online Ordering?

Yes. Many haulers start with the $99/mo Online Ordering module to take 24/7 bookings on their website without changing how their yard operates. New orders flow directly into your dashboard and email notifications. When you are ready to track containers and drivers digitally, you can add Operations with one click.

How does automatic scale ticket settlement work?

When a customer checks out on your storefront, their card is securely vaulted via Stripe and they digitally agree to your per-ton overage rate. When your driver dumps the can at the landfill or transfer station, your team enters the net weight from the scale ticket into Talos. The software deducts the included tons, prorates the difference at your configured overage rate, charges the balance to the card on file, and emails an itemized receipt to the customer.

How is double-booking prevented?

Unlike tools that simply subtract from an aggregate inventory count, Talos assigns specific physical containers by serial number (e.g. 20YD-04). A PostgreSQL database-level exclusion constraint guarantees two orders can never overlap on the same physical container, even if two customers complete checkout at the exact same fraction of a second.

Do you charge per user, per driver, or per truck?

No. Talos is flat-rate software: $99/mo for Online Ordering, $99/mo for Yard Operations, or $198/mo for both. You can add as many dispatchers, drivers, trucks, and containers as your business needs without price jumps.

Who processes customer payments and where does the money go?

Payments are processed directly through your own Stripe account. Funds settle directly into your business bank account. During initial onboarding, your workspace operates in Stripe test mode so you can rehearse bookings, test agreements, and verify weight ticket calculations before taking live customer money.

Can I use my own domain name and branding?

Yes. You can connect your custom domain (such as rentals.yourbrand.com or your apex domain). Your storefront displays your company name, brand colors, phone number, address blurb, and rental policies.

What dumpster sizes, fees, and materials are supported?

You have complete control over your catalog. You can create 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 30, or 40-yard roll-offs or dump trailers; set included rental days and included tons; configure extra day rates ($/day) and overage rates ($/ton); define serviceable postal codes; and configure accepted versus prohibited materials checklists.
